Game Recommendations For Your Self Isolation.
Over a month has passed since I have seen my friends and classmates. I find myself investing time in my favorite games to bring me comfort and solace. I compiled a list of my favorite games that a person can sink hours into.
1. Dragon Age
Dragon Age is the perfect series to play when you are feeling isolated but don’t feel like talking to other human beings. Step into the fantastical world of Thedas and speak to the wonderful and vibrant characters of Dragon Trilogy. Each game has a cast of characters that are incredibly unique and fun to get to know. The storyline each game is filled to the brim with deceit, mysteries, compelling villains, and romance. If you enjoy story-driven RPGs, the Dragon Age series is waiting for you!
2. Stardew Valley
I’m going to be real. I bought this game the first week of self-isolation and played it for 5 days straight. It was like my job, but instead of 9 am to 5 pm, it was like 12 pm to 4 am. Stardew is great and an affordable price too. If you enjoy farming games like Harvest Moon, then this is the game for you.
3. Animal Crossing: New Horizons
I haven’t played Animal Crossing since City Folk, but when I heard a game was coming out for the Switch, I knew that I had to purchase it. Now, I have played it every day since launch, working to improve my island and bring new villagers to live there. You also invite your friends to your island to admire all your hard work! This game is a long haul so if you need instant gratification, this isn’t the game for you. If you like taking your time and accomplishing goals over a period of time, then this game will be perfect for you!
4. Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
If you haven’t played this game, then this game is the game for you. Don’t think about it, just buy it. Even if you don’t play the main quest, there are an infinite number of activities waiting to be performed in this game. Your imagination is your only limit in a game where you can charge the final boss at the end of the tutorial.
5. Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey
While I recommend this game, keep in mind that I have never played the other Assassin’s Creed games. I played this around the time it came out and loved getting lost in the beautiful and intricate side quests. It was exciting to travel the world and assassinate whoever annoys you along the way. You also get a wonderful assortment of armor throughout the game to dress your character up in. Many of the main story quests don’t take themselves too seriously and add a lot of humor in. If you like open-world, action RPGs, this is the game for you.
Any of these games are sure to bring hours upon hours of welcome distraction to anyone who plays them!
